There is no shortage of things to do during Chicago’s summer season, and this weekend is no exception by bringing us a larger-than-life music and food experience along with a variety of neighborhood street festivals serving up delicious food!

One of the country’s largest, longest-running and most iconic music fests in the world returns to Grant Park (337 E. Randolph St.) in The Loop with Lollapalooza this Saturday and Sunday (11 a.m.-10 p.m.).  Thousands of fans from around the world travel to Chicago for Lolla’s genre-defying music lineup that includes some of music’s biggest names, up-and-coming artists, and local favorites across eight stages.  Beyond the music lineup, Lolla also features food at its Chow Town that showcases the delicious diversity of Chicago’s dining scene and goes way beyond your typical festival food; a Kidzapalooza packed with workshops, activities, and kid-friendly music; an Art Market; recharge stations; sponsor lounge parties; autograph tents; and more.  It truly is a larger-than-life music and food experience!

Returning for another jam-band year to Chicago’s Brewing District is Dancing in the Streets this Saturday and Sunday (12 p.m.-10 p.m.) located on Hubbard Street between Paulina and Wood Streets in the West Town neighborhood.  Guests are invited to take in multiple sets from live jam bands, while enjoying a cold brew from the amazing lineup of local brewers who will be pouring beer all weekend long.  In addition, local restaurants, food trucks, and food vendors will be on hand to keep you fed as well as local makers and artisans, family activities, and more.  This one-of-a-kind live music and craft beer event should be on your weekend list!

Getting in on the street festival season is the Edison Park Fest this Saturday and Sunday (12 p.m.-10 p.m.).  This far Northwest Side neighborhood located at 6755 Northwest Highway will be packed with live music on their main stage; delicious food from local vendors; family entertainment which includes a bike parade, balloon twisting on stilts, inflatables, and more.  And don’t forget Bingo!  That’s right, get your dabbers ready for Charity Bingo Days supporting three amazing organizations.

Head to the Pilsen neighborhood for their Sabor Taco y Tequila Fest this Saturday and Sunday (12 p.m.-10 p.m.) at 18th Street and Blue Island Avenue.  This year’s food vendors will showcase some of the best taco vendors from across the city serving up al pastor, asada, carnitas, or vegan/vegetarian options along with a variety of tequila-based drinks to satisfy all palates as well as some of Chicago’s best michelada vendors with unique recipes.  After filling up on food and drinks, head on over to the carnival, shop for goods from local vendors, or enjoy a variety of dance music all day long.  Then head on back for more tacos and tequila!

With Chicago’s rich history of jazz, the 3rd annual Bronzeville Smooth Jazz Festival will be held this Saturday (12 p.m.-8:30 p.m.) at Martin Luther King Drive from 39th to 37th Streets.  This year’s outdoor fest will feature live music from up-and-coming jazz musicians, food trucks, products from local vendors, a Senior Lounge, and a Kid’s Zone with games and fun for the whole family!
