Kathleen Weaver Zech - Dean's Team Director of Buyers Agency ServicesThe best way to keep weeds and pests away from your grass is simple – maintain a thick healthy lawn!

Easier said than done? Not at all! With proper watering and feeding it is easy!

Many avid gardeners are gravitating toward organic feeding and pest control. This is not only better for the environment but is also healthier for your family and pets.

Several years ago a study traced lymph cancer in dogs to an ingredient in weed and feed sold to the public. The findings indicated that animals living closer to the ground are more quickly affected by gardening chemicals. But how about children who roll around in the grass? I think it’s just good sense to go organic now in our lawn and garden.

Organic Gardening is easy to start! Check out organic gardening on the net and you will have many choices. I have always purchased from Gardens Alive. They have many solutions for a myriad of lawn garden and also home pest problems

Follow directions and you will grow a better lawn. The positive results of organic lawn take a little longer to see but the effort and investment is certainly worth it.

In most cases a little spot seeding helps a lot. We spot seed every year. Remember to keep the seed moist every day till it germinates usually in about ten days to two weeks. And don’t forget – water only one inch per week! Also one deep watering is better for the lawn than more frequent shorter sprinklings. This grows deeper roots essential to keep your lawn vigorous healthy and lovely!
